Maryland State Police Investigating Bomb Threat

Maryland State Police are investigating a bomb threat. At about 6:15 Monday night emergency crews were called out to Van Pelt Drive in Rawlings. The victim received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. The caller demanded the victim owed money on back taxes and during the call claimed there was an explosive device in the victim’s vehicle. According to Maryland State Fire Marshal’s it is a  common threat and people are reminded to treat all threats as real until the threat is investigated. Emergency crews were on the scene for about an hour conducting an inspection of the vehicle.
