Man Shot in Face in Romney Has Bond Revoked

More details are emerging following a shooting in Romney Hampshire County Prosecuting Attorney Dan James says they have obtained surveillance footage from Sheetz along with witness testimony. On Tuesday Feb 21st 29 year old Stewart Rockhold of Romney and 32 year old Charles Crowley of Shanks were allegedly involved in an argument inside Sheetz which then continued outside of the store. According to James Rockhold and another individual were waiting outside Crowley’s vehicle and then Rockhold attempted to get into the vehicle on the passenger side when the shooting occurred. Three shots were fired including two inside the vehicle. Rockhold was shot in the face and was treated and released from the hospital. James says Rockhold had been on day report supervision after being charged with a non-violent felony offense. On the day of the shooting Rockhold tested positive for several controlled substances. James says his office filed a motion to revoke his bond and there is an order for his arrest. James says at this time there appears to be nothing criminal about Crowley’s actions on the day of the shooting. James says they are still working to collect more information and anyone with any details to come forward to law enforcement officials. James says they do not believe the situation was a random argument. He says Rockhold and Crowley most likely knew one another and the argument was over a previous situation.
