Flintstone Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on I-68

Maryland State Police have released the details following Saturday’s fatal motorcycle crash. According to State Police at 4:37pm, troopers responded to east bound Interstate 68 at the 64 mile marker for a fatal motorcycle accident involving a Flintstone man. When troopers arrived, it was determined that the operator, James Allan Rice, of Flintstone, Maryland, was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson east bound just east of M.V. Smith Road. Mr. Rice failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway and subsequently lost control of the motorcycle. The vehicle crashed into the center median and came to rest in the roadway. As a result of the crash, Mr. Rice was fatally injured. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the collision. Troopers on scene were assisted by the flight crew of Trooper 5, Flintstone and Little Orleans Volunteer Fire Companies and also the Maryland State Highway Administration.
