Delegate Jason Buckel Discusses 2016 Legislative Session

The 2016 Maryland Legislative Session came to a close this week. Delegate Jason Buckel says there were some good pieces of legislative session and some pieces that unfortunately didn’t move through. He says overall he feels it was a good session. Two bills proposed by Buckel and Senator George Edwards passed including the Biotechnology and Cybersecurity Investment Incentive Tax Credits which he says will entice biotech and cybersecurity companies to look at locating in Western Maryland.   Buckel says that could mean higher paying jobs for the region.  Buckel says the legislature also approved setting aside 2.5. million dollars in funding in the capitol budget for the new Health Science facility at Frostburg State University. He says that will enable FSU to offer health science programs and provide vital training and education for health care field jobs.
