Cumberland Man Arrested In Connection with Robbery

A Cumberland man is arrested following a robbery in December.  According to Cumberland Police on Thursday, February 23rd  officers served an arrest warrant on 22 year old Calman McKenzie.  The warrant stemmed from an incident that occurred in December of last year.  On December 18, 2016 at approximately 11:45 PM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to Memorial Avenue in reference to a robbery that just occurred.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they contacted the victim who reported that she was robbed and assaulted by two male subjects, only one of whom she could identify.  The victim advised that the suspects stole $140 cash and her cell phone.  After investigation into the incident, the second suspect was identified as Calman McKenzie.  An application for charges was later filed at the District Court of Allegany County by the Cumberland Police Department and an arrest warrant was issued for McKenzie.  McKenzie was located and arrested.  He was served with the warrant and taken to the Allegany District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
