Shawn Hershberger is stepping down as Executive Director of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation. As Allegany Radio Corporation reported earlier this week Winchester City officials announced Tuesday he is taking a position as the Director of Economic Services at the end of the month. According to a statement from the Board of Directors and staff members of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation they certainly will miss having Shawn Hershberger as Executive Director. They credit Mr. Hershberger with having the vision to privatize economic development in our community and wish him great success in his career move. The mission of the CEDC remains to take whatever action necessary to move the City of Cumberland forward according to the strategic plan.
