Cause of Double Fatal Fire is Undetermined

The cause of a double fatal fire in Hampshire County is undetermined. According to the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s office investigators are awaiting the autopsy results from the state Medical Examiner’s Office. Emergency crews were called to the house fire in Capon Bridge at about 12:30pm on June 19th.  Several fire companies along with the Capon Bridge Police Department and Hampshire County EMS responded to the scene. Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Nathan Sions says when first responders arrived, the house had smoke coming from inside the home. When firefighters made entry, they located two deceased victims. The victims were identified as 81 year old Robert and 80 year old Virginia Lovett, husband and wife. Hampshire County sheriff deputies responded to assist with the investigation.
