Two People Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Garrett County

Two people arrested on drug charges following traffic stop in Garrett County. According to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office on January 2, 2021, deputies stopped a vehicle along 4th Street in Oakland for traffic violations. During the traffic stop a K-9 scan was conducted which resulted in a positive K-9 alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in the recovery of 7 grams of fentanyl, 38 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles, a loaded .25 auto handgun, and $1,179.00 in United States Currency. As a result of the search, the driver of the vehicle 52 year old Jeffrey Vincent Corby of Kitzmiller, MD; and the passenger 40 year old Joshua Todd Culp of Oakland, MD, were both arrested for the drug and handgun violations. Both Corby and Culp were charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Firearms use during a violent crime, Possession Firearm drug trafficking, as well as other related drug and firearm charges. Detectives with the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division seized the United States Currency.Both Corby and Culp are being held in the Garrett County Jail without bond.
