The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double fatal car crash. On August 12th deputies were called out for a single vehicle accident along Route 93 in Scherr just below the Dam Site Road. When the deputies arrived at the scene the driver Seth Workman of Keyser was being taken in an ambulance to a landing zone to be flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital after he was ejected from the vehicle. Workman was driving a 1995 Toyota Tercel with a juvenile female in the front seat and Tucker Weed of Keyser in the rear seat. The preliminary investigation indicated speed was a factor and Workman lost control, ran the vehicle off the edge of the roadway, the vehicle then became airborne and hit the ground then flipped and hit a tree. Workman was ejected and both occupants still inside the vehicle were killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene.
