Two Cumberland Residents Arrested on Theft and Drug Charges

Two Cumberland residents face theft and drug charges. According to Cumberland Police officials February 20th 2017 officers took an initial theft investigation where it was learned that the victim had his wallet stolen at a business on Industrial Boulevard.  Investigation into this matter revealed that all of the victim’s credit cards were used at area businesses in the Cumberland area with the total expenditures at about $1,500.00 dollars in a two day span.  Officers checked video surveillance cameras where the fraudulent purchases were made and as a result the two suspects were identified.  A search warrant was conducted at their residence and numerous stolen items were recovered as well as the stolen credit cards and large quantities of Marijuana.   Eric Agocs, age 26 and Ersebet Agocs, age 55, both of Cumberland, Maryland, were arrested on Saturday Feb 25, 2017.  They were processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and both were both were held on $5,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

They were both charged as follows:

Conspiracy to commit Theft 1k-10, Use/Disclose credit card (2 counts), Fraud 1k-10k. Credit card fraud (2 counts),  Credit card belonging to another (2 counts), Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia (4 counts), Theft less than 1k.
