Two Cumberland Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Two Cumberland residents are arrested on drug charges. According to Cumberland Police on Monday, August 24th, 2020 officers executed a search and seizure warrant at a Williams Street residence. The warrant was the result of an investigation into the usage and sales of illegal narcotics occurring at the residence. During the search of the residence and the occupants; officers located numerous capsules containing suspected heroin, hypodermic syringes, suspected crack cocaine, and CDS packaging materials. Also an illegally modified shotgun was recovered. 25 year old Elaina Dawn Harper and 27 year old Christopher Scott Simmons were identified by officers and the investigation as the sole occupants of the Williams Street residence. They were both arrested and charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, CDS possession not marihuana, CDS administering equipment, and possession of a short barreled shotgun. Both were taken before the District Court Commissioner and they were remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
