Three People Charged In Connection with Stolen ATV’s

Three people face charges after they are caught with a stolen ATV. According to Allegany County Sheriff’s officials Feb. 22nd deputy Hodel was patrolling the Oldtown area, due to a recent theft of numerous 4 wheelers. As a result, he observed a vehicle towing a 4 wheeler and attempted to stop the vehicle. Suspect on 4 wheeler, Scott Joshua Schlothauer 32 years old Baltimore, Md. Fled from the bike. A short distance later vehicle was stopped and ultimately Jessica Lee Bennett Green Springs WV Age 30 (Driver) and Jason William Schlothauer Baltimore, Maryland Age 30 (Passenger) were arrested. Recovered was a stolen 4 wheeler valued at $5000. Trooper 5 and MSP K-9 assisted in search of third individual. However, he was not located at that time. A short while later calls came in from concern citizens claiming an individual was asking to use phone to get help. He had a injury to his head and eye area. Deputies responded and confirmed that this was the suspect that ran from the 4 wheeler. He was identified as Scott Joshua Schlothauer Age 32 Baltimore Md. All 3 were charged with Theft over $1000, possession of stolen property, Motor vehicle theft, conspiracy to steal motor vehicle.
Bennett was held on $50,000, Jason Schlothaver was held without bond, and Scott Schlothauer was held on $50,000 pending their next hearings. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of C3I, Maryland state police and Hampshire Sheriffs Office.
