Swanton Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Swanton man is arrested on drug charges. According to Maryland State Police just before 6pm Friday night TFC A.R. Broadwater of the McHenry Barrack stopped at 2016 Chevy Trax passenger car for speeding 70 mph in 55 mph zone, on U.S. Route 219 at Rabbit Hollow Road, Garrett County, Maryland. Upon contacting the driver, 51 year old Darrin Gerard Kamp of Swanton TFC Broadwater noticed an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 179 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle. Kamp was subsequently charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, DUI, negligent driving and speeding. Kamp was subsequently released on bond.
