An Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputy is injured in a crash in Lonaconing. On Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at approximately 1622 hours, the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barracks responded to MD Rt. 36 in the area of George’s Creek Elementary School Lonaconing, Allegany County, MD for a two vehicle collision. Troopers arrived on scene, locating a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, and marked Allegany County Sheriff’s Office patrol car. Sheriffs deputy was transported to UPMC Western MD for none life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ram truck was not injured. MD Rt. 36 was shut down for a period of time, both vehicles were removed from the scene. Investigation is still ongoing at this time
