A Rio West Virginia man is dead following a shooting near the Hardy/ Hampshire County line. According to Hardy County Sheriff’s officials Monday at about 7am emergency crews were called out for a report of shots fired near the Liberty Gas Station in Rio. Law enforcement from the Hardy County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police and Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene where they found Dustin Hinkle dead from a gunshot wound. 22 year old Robert Greenfield of Rig was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. 23 year old Christopher Mason of Petersburg, WV was also at the scene and charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm. Hinkle’s body has been sent to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. Both Greenfield and Mason are being held at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.
