All events are free and open to the public. This year’s featured author is  Calef Brown, author and illustrator of “Pirateria,” at Palace Theatre. All are encouraged to dress as pirates, as prizes will be awarded at a costume contest. Children, along with their parents, are encouraged to participate in the Mystery Pirate Treasure Hunt on Main Street, where they will search for pirate clues and treasure from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Frostburg businesses and restaurants will be open, with special bargains. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with pirate crews of five or more reporting to Palace Theatre. Smaller crews should register at City Place.
