The 2020 session of the Maryland General Assembly begins at noon today. The new legislative session begins with new leadership in both the House and Senate. House Speaker Adrienne Jones who succeeds Michael Busch. Busch died on the last day of the 2019 session and was the state’s longest-serving speaker. The Maryland Senate this year will be led by Senator Bill Ferguson. Longtime President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. who has cancer announced last year he would be stepping down from the position. MD Senator George Edwards explains what he thinks will be the main issues this year during the 90 day session, especially those that will impact Mountain Maryland.
