MD Fire Marshal Investigating Shed Fire in Cumberland

The cause of a shed fire remains under investigation. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office the blaze broke out inside a 40×50 foot outbuilding on House Drive NE in Cumberland just before noon on June 24th. The fire caused about 50 thousand dollars in damage. 35 firefighters were called to the scene and had the fire under control in about 30 minutes. The homeowner had just cut grass and placed the mower back into the shed shortly before the fire. Investigators are considering if that could have contributed to the cause of the fire.
