Maryland Gaming Revenues Over 1 Billion Dollars

According to Maryland Lottery and Gaming officials FY2015 traditional lottery sales and casino revenues contributed $1.012 billion to the State of Maryland. That’s an increase of 19 % from 2014 and is the first time that combined lottery and casino contributions to the state exceeded $1 billion. Maryland Lottery and Gaming is the fourth-largest contributor to the state after income, sales and corporate taxes. Maryland’s five casinos added nearly 2,000 jobs in FY2015, increasing the total number of employees to approximately 5,900. Full-time employees were offered comprehensive healthcare and retirement investment options.
