Man Wanted in Allegany County Arrested in West Virginia Meth Bust

A man wanted in Allegany County and his girlfriend are arrested during a meth bust in Morgan County. 40 year old Michael Burton was arrested on Friday along West Virginia Route 9 by deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. An informant told deputies Burton and his girlfriend were cooking meth and intended on taking it to Berkeley Springs. Deputies stopped Burton who had a revoked license for DUI and was wanted for a felony probation violation in Allegany County. He was arrested without incident. His passenger was identified as Kara Skidmore who was also arrested without incident. According to deputies she attempted to conceal the meth but deputies found the drugs during a search. Several materials believed to be used to make methamphetamine were found inside the car. Burton is being held at the Eastern Regional Jail on $200,000. Skidmore is also being held at the Eastern Regional Jail on $25,000.
