Hampshire County Woman and Dog Rescued Following Fall from Cliff

A Hampshire County woman was rescued by Trooper 5 yesterday after falling from a cliff near Romney. According to Hampshire County Sheriff John Alkire emergency crews were called to the scene just west of Romney at about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. The woman was hoisted from the cliff at about 5:30pm. The woman and her dog had fallen over what is known as yellow banks, a 130 ft set of cliffs adjacent to School St. in Romney. The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken Hampshire Memorial Hospital. Rescue team then extricated the dog by rope back to top of cliffs and all rescuers were hoisted back to the top by rope.
