A Hampshire County man is dead following a crash on Interstate 81 in Berkeley County. 33 year old Robert Louis Peterson of Springfield, was traveling north near the Tabler Station Road exit at just after 6 a.m. when for some unknown reason his vehicle went across the median and into the southbound lane striking an oncoming truck head-on according to troopers. Peterson was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital.
