Gas Prices Continue to Increase

Gas prices are on the rise and Christine Delise with AAA says there are several reasons for the increase over the past two weeks. “Unfortunately is it typical of this time of year they move higher as gasoline demand begins to increase and refineries are conducting that seasonal maintenance in advance of the June 1st deadline when all gas stations have to sell the summer blend gasoline. It is a little more expensive to produce but it is more environmentally friendly. We expect gas prices to continue to rise at least through Memorial Day weekend. Right now the national average for a gallon of regular grade gasoline is $1.98, in Maryland it is $2.00, in West Virginia it is $1.93 and in Pennsylvania it is $2.07.
