Friendsville Woman Arrested Following Traffic Stop

A Friendsville woman was arrested by Garrett County Sheriff’s Deputies during a traffic stop on I-68 on Tuesday night June 29th at about 10pm. Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle for an equipment violation eastbound on I-68 near Friendsville. The driver was identified as 41 year old Carrie Lee McCombie of Friendsville. A Maryland State Police K-9 unit was requested and conducted a scan of the vehicle which resulted in a positive alert for controlled dangerous substances. A check of McCombie’s driver’s license confirmed that she had the license revoked. A search of McCombie led to the recovery of a quantity of methamphetamines and a quantity of Alprazolam. The street value of the seized methamphetamines was about $800. A search of the vehicle lead to the recovery of drug paraphernalia including a scale. McCombie is charged with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Alprazolam, and possession of drug paraphernalia. McCombie was taken to the Garrett County Detention Center.
