FPD Moving Temporarily

The Frostburg Police Department will be temporarily relocating its police headquarters effective December 19, 2019 to 195 University Drive, the building on Frostburg State University’s campus previously used as the FSU Police Department and also known as the “Lincoln School”.  The Frostburg Police Department is relocating during the construction phase of the Frostburg Municipal Center Project, which includes renovations and additions to the Public Safety building at 37 Broadway, and will begin in the next few weeks.

The project construction is expected to take about one year, and at the conclusion, the Police Department will return to the 1st floor of the “Frostburg Municipal Center” building located at 37 Broadway.  In addition, City Hall offices will move to the new building and have offices on the 1st and 2nd floors. The project will result in an efficient, fully accessible, and sprinklered building, which will be modern and designed to serve the community of Frostburg for the next 30 years or more.

The Police Department will be moving on Thursday, December 19.  The Police Department will answer and respond to calls throughout the moving process, through cooperation and support from Frostburg State University Police Department, Allegany County Department of Emergency Services, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, and the Maryland State Police.  The Frostburg Police Department number is 301-689-3000, or as always, you may dial 911 in the event of an emergency.

Beginning December 20, 2019, day to day business with the Frostburg Police Department will need to be conducted at 195 University Drive.  The Frostburg Police Department phone numbers will remain the same.  The payment drop box located at 37 Broadway will no longer be in service to accept payments. Payments may be brought to City Hall during normal business hours, mailed to PO Box 440, or payments may be made online through the City website.  The fee for online payments through the City website is $1.05 for e-checks (payments directly from a checking or savings account).  The fee for card payments is 2.95% of the total bill.  For tax payments only, if a debit card with a VISA emblem is used, a flat rate of fee of $3.95 is applicable.

The City is sincerely appreciative of the entities assisting with the move and during the period of transition for the next year.  Also, appreciation is extended to the residents of Frostburg for their understanding and patience during the construction period.   Questions may be directed to the Frostburg City Police Department at 301-689-3000 or City Hall at 301-689-6000.
