Former Hardy County Clerk Sentenced

Former Hardy County Clerk Kim Hartman enters an Alford plea on felony conspiracy charges. All other charges against Hartman were dropped. Hartman was sentenced to spend one to five years behind bars but that sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation and she was ordered to do 120 hours of community service. In March 2018 Hartman was indicted by a Hardy County grand jury on charges she and her then husband Dennis Hartman and William Brantner and Samantha Beatty conspired to purchase pseudoephedrine at local pharmacies to make methamphetamine at her home in Moorefield. Hartman’s co-defendants, her then husband along with Brantner and Beatty also received suspended sentences and probation.
