The driver of a tractor trailer was cited after a crash on I-68. According to Maryland State Police at about 4:15pm yesterday 35 year old Denver Bennett of TN was driving a freight liner pulling a fully enclosed trailer westbound on I-68 just before the MV Smith Road exit. Bennett lost control and the vehicle crashed, flipping sideways and coming to rest on the passenger side against the slow lane shoulder guardrail. Diesel fuel was also leaking from the ruptured fuel tank. Bennett sustained minor injuries and was issued a traffic citation. SHA assisted with a temporary road closure while the vehicle was removed. Allegany County Hazmat Team, Flintstone Ambulance and Fire crews responded to the scene to assist.Bennett was issued citations for negligent driving. He was taken to WMRMC for injuries he sustained in the crash.
