Based on the latest data from the Maryland Board of Elections so far more than 21% of eligible voters in Allegany County have cast their ballots during early voting and 46% have early voted in Garrett County. Across the state of Maryland almost 24% total early voted. As for mail in ballots in Allegany County 18% of eligible voters mailed in ballots and Garrett County about 16% mailed in ballots. State wide 32% of total registered voters cast mail in ballots.
In West Virginia 10% voters cast absentee ballots, statewide early voting included 19%. Locally early voting by county includes in Grant 26%, early votes with Hampshire at 18%, Hardy with 17 % and Mineral had 19% total voters who early voted.
Polls in Maryland and Pennsylvania are open until 8pm. Polls in West Virginia are open until 7:30pm
Reminders as you head to the polls be patient and expect long times and long wait times with high voter turnout and COVID-19 restrictions at each location. Wear a mask and socially distance.
