Cumberland Woman Faces Drug Charges

A Cumberland woman faces drug charges. According to Cumberland Police on June 26th at 2:30 PM an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department was patrolling the 100 block of Independence Street when they observed what appeared to be a CDS transaction. The officer contacted 24 year old Hadley Star Jenkins and began investigating. The officer requested permission to check Ms. Jenkins purse and she placed it on the ground and opened it. The officer observed suspected CDS in plain sight and advised Ms. Jenkins she was under arrest. Ms. Jenkins began pushing the officer and attempted to resist arrest. Ms. Jenkins was placed under arrest after a brief struggle. A search incident to arrest was conducted and suspected heroin, crack cocaine, prescription medication, and CDS paraphernalia were located. Ms. Jenkins then attempted to bribe the officer in lieu of being placed under arrest. Ms. Jenkins was taken before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.  She faces the following charges:  CDS Possession with intent to distribute, 3 counts of CDS Possession Not Marijuana, Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Fail To Obey A Lawful Order, Attempt To Bribe A Public Employee
