Cumberland Man Will Face Charges Following Motorcycle Chase

A Cumberland man will face charges following a motorcycle chase in Mineral County. According to Mineral County Sheriff Jeremy Taylor on Monday night a deputy was handling traffic control along Route 46 near Fountain and noticed several motorcycles speeding past. He attempted a traffic stop and three motorcyclists pulled over but one kept driving around Route 46. A chase then began along Route 46 onto Route 28 northbound. The motorcyclist identified as 31 year old Jeremy Wigger turned onto Route 956 and lost control and crashed. He then attempted to flee on foot but was arrested. He was taken to Potomac Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash and is expected to be charged for fleeing the scene.
