Cumberland Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges in Garrett County

A Cumberland man pleads guilty to drug charges in Garrett County. According to Garrett County State’s Attorney Lisa Thayer Welch, 42 year old Taveres Kiyum Rudolph, pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin in the Circuit Court. Related charges were dismissed upon his plea.  Judge Ray Strubin sentenced Rudolph to eight years in the Division of Correction.

In March, Rudolph was arrested and charged by Garrett County Sheriff’s Deputies who responded to a motor vehicle accident along Kitzmiller Road.  During the investigation, deputies observed suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on the driver.  Rudolph was the passenger in the vehicle and was found in possession of 23 stamps of heroin when he reached into his pocket as officers were attempting to detain him.
