Charging Documents Reveal Cumberland Man’s Motive for Murders

Charging documents filed against a Cumberland man charged with murdering a family friend, his brother and sister-in-law reveal his alleged motive. The documents were filed Wednesday in Howard County District Court of Maryland against 46 year old Jeffery Burnham. He allegedly wanted to confront his brother who was a pharmacist about the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the charging documents on Sept 29th Burnham’s mother Evelyn Burnham contacted Cumberland Police because her son told her the FBI would be coming after then and she was worried about his mental health. Burnham is charged with killing 83 year old Rebecca Reynolds of Cumberland at her home on Sept 29th and then he allegedly stole her car and went to his brother’s home in Howard County. Burnham then shot and killed his brother 58 year old Brian Robinette and his wife 57 year old Kelly Robinette then stole their vehicle.  A tipster also contacted Maryland State Police after Burnham arrived at their home on Sept 30th and asked for gas money then said the said they would see him on tv and that his brother was killing people with the COVID shot. On October 1st Burnham was arrested in Tucker County, WV. He is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center.
