The cause of a fire in Mt Savage is under investigation. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office the fire broke out at about 9:49pm on March 7th in an interior stairwell of a cape cod style home on Mile Lane. 45 firefighters were on the scene and had the fire under control in about 45 minutes. The fire caused about $150 thousand dollars in damage. The fire was discovered by a passerby. The occupants were displaced and are being assisted by family members.
