A boil water and conserve water notice remains in effect until further notice for the town of Carpendale. Friday officials noticed the water level in the town water tank dropped to just more than one foot when it is usually 23 feet. Ridgeley Fire Dept arranged for 5-6 companies to assist in a water shuttle Sunday to bring the tank back close normal levels.Water crews will be on hand this morning to pull the new pump out again to find out why it stopped working. More water will likely have to be brought back in to the water tank again by Wednesday. There is no estimate on how long repairs will take. Carpendale officials thank following fire departments for their work on Sunday refilling the tank: Ridgeley, Fort Ashby, Fountain, Baltimore Pike, Mt Savage, Eastern Garrett, Grantsville, Springfield, Ellerslie, Patterson Creek, Midland, Bowling Green who supplied the aerial ladder and LaVale.
