Baltimore Woman Sentenced In Connection with Stabbing At Garrett College

A Baltimore woman is sentenced in connection with a stabbing incident at Garrett College. According to the Garrett County State’s Attorney’s Office 20 year old Shamaine Moore  was sentenced to two years in prison with all of the sentence suspended except for the time she has served pending trial and sentencing.  This totaled slightly more than six months.  She is on probation for three years.Moore was arrested and charged by Maryland State Police in January, 2015, following an incident in the cafeteria of Garrett College.  A fight occurred when another student, 21 year old Daniqua Harrington, punched Moore and took her to the ground, striking her a couple more times.  Moore pulled a knife from her pocket, resulting in 13 laceration or stab wounds to Harrington.  Harrington was treated at Garrett Regional Medical Center and then Ruby Memorial Hospital. In March, jurors found Moore not guilty of attempted second degree murder and first degree assault, but guilty of second degree assault.
