An Oakland woman faces drugs and firearms charges. According to Cumberland Police on December 10th, 2019, officers responded to the area of Spring St for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and approached the vehicle, contacting its occupants. It was at that time, officers observed a visible firearm in the vehicle within reach of the occupants. They were then asked to step out of the vehicle. As one of the occupants exited the vehicle, CDS paraphernalia fell from the lap of one of the individuals. Upon a further search of the vehicle, a second regulated firearm was located. Also located was an amount of suspected methamphetamine and controlled prescription medications. As a result of the investigation, 25 year old Chelsy Rose Wilt of Oakland MD was placed under arrest for numerous firearms and CDS distribution charges. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.
