Law Enforcement Officials Asking for Information Following Incident in Frostburg

Law enforcement officials are investigating after two police vehicles were damaged during an incident in Frostburg.  On Sunday, September 22, 2019, at approximately 12:38 a.m., Frostburg City Police responded to a noise complaint at Bobcat Court.  Upon arrival, officers found a large, disorderly crowd outside estimated at 200 people. Immediately upon police arrival some unidentified members of the crowd began throwing rocks at officers.  Officers attempted to disperse the crowd and deployed a fogger OC spray canister in the midst of the disorderly crowd while the rocks were being thrown at officers, which dispersed the crowd successfully. Two officers at the scene had contact with OC spray but sustained no serious injuries. However, two police vehicles were damaged as a result of the rocks being thrown. Police are continuing to conduct a criminal investigation into this matter in an attempt to identify the individuals that were throwing rocks.  Frostburg City Police were assisted at the scene by Frostburg State University Police, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, and Maryland State Police.
