Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two men face drug charges after an investigation into the sale of heroin in Allegany County. According to the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force on May 18, 2020 members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit, Maryland State Police S.T.A.T.E. Team, Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, Frostburg City Police Department and Cumberland City Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant’s on Powells Lane and the 200 block of Welsh Hill Road, Frostburg, Allegany County, Maryland.

The search warrant was the result of an investigation by the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force into the distribution and sales of heroin in the Allegany County area. During the subsequent search, Allegany County Narcotics Task Force investigators located heroin and CDS packaging material.

As a result, Corey James Douglas, 42, of Baltimore, Maryland and David Glenn Burgess, 37, of Frostburg was arrested.

Both Douglas and Burgess were charged with the following:

– CDS DIST-NARC (HEROIN)
– CDS POSS W/INT TO DIST HEROIN
– CDS: POSS-NOT MARIJUANA

Following their initial appearance, Douglas and Burgess were held without bond. The investigation is ongoing.
