Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a homicide. On May 23rd at about 10:30am troopers were called out to a residence on Railroad Avenue in Saxton. 53 year old Daren Lingenfelter of Claysburg was struck with an arrow that was discharged from a cross bow inside the home. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bedford County Coroner.24 year old Alec Rhoads of Mt. Carmel, PA was taken into custody at a residence in James Creek. Rhoads is charged with 1st degree murder, 3rd degree murder, criminal homicide and assault.
