MD State Superintendent Visits GCPS

Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Mohammed Choudhury visited Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) Wednesday. State Superintendent Choudhury attended a meeting with district instructional and behavior support personnel regarding the Response to Intervention (RTI) initiatives with Ms. Barbara Baker, Superintendent, in the morning. Together, they later visited several classrooms and spoke with students at Yough Glades Elementary School. In the afternoon Mr. Choudury attended classes with 8th-grade students at Southern Middle School. GCPS was one of the first school districts in Maryland in which Superintendent Choudhury completed a full-day visit.
