LaVale Woman Faces DWI Charges Following Crash

A LaVale woman faces driving while impaired charges following a crash over the weekend. According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office on 5/1/21, Deputies responded to the 15000blk of  McMullen Hwy, Cresaptown, MD for a reported motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival deputies found two vehicles disabled in the roadway. One passenger was trapped for approximately 20 minutes before being extricated by the Cresaptown VFD and Rawlings VFD personnel. A preliminary investigation revealed that the at fault vehicle operated by 43 year old Jessica Pudlin, of Lavale had been traveling southbound in the northbound lane before striking a northbound vehicle. Three parties were transported to UPMC for treatment. The trapped passenger  identified as 86 year old Mary Lanore Taylor of Cumberland was later flown to Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. where she remains in critical condition. Pudlin was charged with impaired driving offenses and released pending trial. This matter remains under investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Crash Team. 

Pudlin is charged with the following:

Driving while impaired by alcohol

Driving while impaired by alcohol Per Se

Driving under the influence of alcohol

Driving while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol

Driving while under the influence of CDS

Failing to drive right of center

Reckless driving

Negligent driving

Additional charges are pending further investigation.
