LaVale Man Convicted on Firearms Charges

A LaVale man is convicted of unlawful possession of firearms. According to officials with United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II 25 year old Jesse Kenney was convicted of unlawful possession of firearms in federal court. Kenney was previously convicted of the felony offense of “Conspiracy to Commit Theft in an Amount Greater Than $500” in the Circuit Court of Allegany County, Maryland. As a result of that felony conviction, he is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was subsequently discovered in June 2015 in unlawful possession of six rifles and one shotgun. Kenney pled guilty today to one count of “Felon in Possession of a Firearm.” He faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided.
