Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Officials are investigating an assault at the Western Correctional Institution. A 25 year old inmate was hospitalized with puncture wounds following the assault that took place in a housing unit at about 9pm Thursday night. WCI investigators have identified two suspects and will be working with DPSCS detectives on the case. No correctional officers were injured.
