Garrett County Residents Sentenced In Animal Cruelty Investigation

Two Garrett County residents plead guilty to charges involving an animal cruelty investigation. According to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office on January 6th 73 year old William Corbin of Oakland plead guilty to failure to provide vet care charges and 51 year old Lisa Kitzmiller plead guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty and neglect. William Corbin was sentenced to three years probation and is unable to own any animals for the duration of the probation. Lisa Kitzmiller was sentenced to spend 30 days incarceration and three years probation, pay $1,000 restitution to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office Animal Shelter and is unable to own any animals for the duration of probation. The charges are the result of a Garrett County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control search warrant that lead to the discovery of an injured and malnourished dog and the discovery of a dead dog and three other malnourished dogs living in poor conditions in another residence.
