Four WV Residents Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop in Garrett County

Four West Virginia residents face drug charges after a traffic stop in Garrett County. According to the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack on 9/23/21 at 6:54pmTroopers from the McHenry Barrack stopped a 2005 Dodge Neon, traveling eastbound on I-68 at the 14 mile marker.  The vehicle was stopped for an inoperable brake light and following too closely.  During the course of the traffic stop a K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted, which resulted in a positive alert.  A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of quantities of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, Clonazepam tablets and Buprenorphine tablets.  As a result, the driver, 60 year old Brenda Kay Watson of Green Springs, WV and the two passengers, 39 year old Timothy Brent Kirby of Romney, WV and 52 year old Timothy James Saville of Paw Paw, WV  were all charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of CDS paraphernalia.  A third passenger, 27 year old Jonathan Vance Whetzel Jr. of Points, WV was charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and possession of Buprenorphine.  All four subjects were subsequently taken before a district court commissioner for a bond hearing.
