Daily COVID-19 Update

The Allegany County Health will hold a COVID-19 walk-in vaccination clinic on Saturday, June 19 during the Juneteenth celebration in Downtown Cumberland. The clinic will take place in the first floor conference room of the Fairfield Inn, directly adjacent to Canal Place and within easy walking distance of the festivities. The complete list of health department walk-in clinics happening this week is as follows:

• June 15 from 1 to 4 p.m.:

Allegany County Health Department, Ground Floor, Willowbrook Office Complex, 12501 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD.

• June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon:

Potomac Fire Company #2, 61 Main Street, Westernport, MD.

• June 19 from 12:30 to 3 p.m.:

Fairfield Inn, first floor conference room, 21 North Wineow Street Cumberland, MD.

All of these COVID clinics are free and will offer both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID -19 vaccines to anyone age 18 or older. No appointment is needed.

In Allegany County, 26,028 residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19 (37.0% of the population), with 23,316 of those individuals now fully vaccinated with their second dose (33.1% of the population). The number of residents who have received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine is 2,775 (3.9%).

By comparison, the state reported that 55.2% of all Marylanders had received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine, with 48.1% having had both doses and 4.1% vaccinated with the single-dose vaccine.

Allegany County COVID-19 Case Statistics as of June 13:

• New COVID Cases (since Monday, June 7): 9 (cumulative total 7,036)

• Additional Deaths (since Monday, June 7): 0 (cumulative total 212)

• Cases Per 100,000 Population: 3.25 (Maryland: 1.57)

• Positivity Rate: 1.7% (Maryland: 0.86%)

Free Community COVID Testing will be offered at Viking Field Parking Lot Tuesday 11 am- 5 pm

Pfizer Vaccine is available for age 12-18 yrs. If you received your first vaccine at a Grant County School on May 26, you may get your second dose at Grove Street Health Care Center on June 16, 2021 from 10-10:45 am. Please bring your vaccine card. If you are unable to attend that date, please call the Health Department at 304-257-4922 to schedule for June 22, 2021.
