Cumberland Man Hospitalized Following Motorcycle Crash

A Cumberland man is hospitalized after a motorcycle accident. According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday October 15 deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motorcycle accident in the 33000 block of National Pike in the Little Orleans area. Initial calls reported a motorcycle over an embankment and the operator was reported to be unconscious. Upon arrival deputies assisted fire and EMS units as they provided patient care. The patient was transported from the scene by the Hancock Rescue Squad to the Orleans Fire Department where a landing zone was established for Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 5. The patient who was identified as 69-year-old Dale Siebert of Cumberland was flown from the scene to UPMC Western Maryland with serious injuries. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Cumberland City Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the investigation is ongoing.
