Cumberland Man Faces Charges for Discharging Firearm

A Cumberland man faces charges for discharging fireworks. According to Cumberland Police on Tuesday, June 30th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Chad William Turner. The summons was issued in reference to the report of someone discharging fireworks in the area of Grand Avenue back on June 27th. On that date, police responded to Grand Avenue and located a residence where the fireworks were being set off at. Officers made contact with 38 year old Chad W. Turner who admitting to setting them off stating “he thought it would be safe because it was raining”. The summons charged Turner with discharging and possession of fireworks without a permit, disturbing the peace loud noise, and failure to obey a lawful order. He signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.
