Cumberland Man Arrested on Robbery and Assault Charges

A Cumberland man is behind bars on robbery and assault charges. According to Cumberland Police on January 15, 2020, the Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on 34 year old Kevin Hewlin of Cumberland, Maryland. The Warrant stemmed from a disturbance complaint that occurred on January 1, 2020. On the aforementioned date, the Cumberland Police responded to Greene Street at the blue bridge for a disturbance. When officers arrived they found that an argument had occurred between Hewlin and two victims. Hewlin then assaulted the victims, pulled items from their grip, and fled the scene. Officers searched the immediate area and were unable to locate Hewlin. Subsequently, an Application for Charges was submitted in District Court and Hewlin was charged with robbery, 2 counts of assault 2nd degree, and disorderly conduct. Hewlin was taken for his Initial Appearance in District Court and held without bond.
