A Cumberland man is behind bars on burglary and assault charges. According to Cumberland Police Thursday February 13th, 2020, officers responded to an Oldtown Road address for a reported breaking and entering. Upon officers arrival they spoke with a female victim who advised 27 year old Trevon Marcel Emerson had broken into the residence through a window and assaulted her. Officers located Emerson inside the residence and learned that he had been previously trespassed from the property. During the officers investigation they discovered that Emerson had taken items from inside the residence. Emerson was placed under arrest for Burglary first degree, burglary third degree, burglary fourth degree, assault second degree, and trespassing. Emerson was remanded to the Allegany Detention where he was held without bond.
